I felt really enveloped into the setting of this VN; the artists did an incredible job at illustrating 1990s Hong Kong, and the writing is so polished and so clearly personal. In particular, the CG scenes are fantastic. The team is gifted at depicting nonsexual kink in action.

Simone feels really real as a character. I really enjoyed being in her head, even in the moments that made my heart sink. I 100% agree with the other comments; it is striking how much Simone is paralyzed by her scrupulosity—and how her decision-making is thus offloaded to the people around her. It is interesting (and, at times, depressing) to see how Fox and Cora take advantage of Simone’s lack of agency in their own ways.

Also, the MINIGAMES! They are SO much fun. I love how engaging they are, and they work perfectly with the plot.

Like your other visual novel, this is one that I think I will be continuing to reflect on for a long time.

I should also add that it is often HOT when Fox takes advantage of Simone's lack of agency. Thank you, beautiful butch triad leader.

oh simone. you are simply too horny for your own good. and i love that for you.

this was great!! i loved the pertinent emphasis on simone's difficulty in choosing ANYTHING, even when life is on the line. i feel her guilt transfer into me when i made her go to fox, because now i too, am a bad person.. i also loved the contrast between fox and cora, where fox scares me (positive) and cora scares me (negative)...

great work from everyone involved in this team!! beautiful backgrounds, beautiful cgs, beautiful sprites, and THE MINIGAMES!!!!!!!! I LOVE SLIDING BLOCK PUZZLE ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!! i got so excited it made me so happy omg

agree so hard about how beautiful everything is 😭 I am so privileged to have gotten to work with these amazing artists. I'm glad you loved the minigames!!! and felt some kind of way about the characters! thank you so much for playing and commenting

What a stellar read !! I don't often really enjoy works from a hard sub's point of view, mainly because the experiences these characters feel are so foreign to my own. I'm extremely thankful as a dom, but as a person I find myself utterly confused at the Hows and Whys people would ever want to put themselves through the wringer like that (aside from religious trauma. That one I got pretty early on).

Well this is the first story ever to actually make me understand, even if only a fraction of it all. The repetitive mechanic of Simone "choosing" to not make a decision was an amazing narrative design move. The choice is there, in full view : she could make it. She just has to reach for it -- yet she doesn't. Time & time again, she goes where she's told to go, does what she's told to do, not because she doesn't have a literal choice in the matter : but because she refuses to make one knowing it could have consequences. Because her whole self-worth relies on not being a Bad Person, she needs plausible deniability. Kink, at its core, is wish and needs fulfillment. It makes sense that this fundamental need to not be made responsible for her own actions leads to the intense pleasure she feels when she is led around. It actually altered something in my brain to finally realize where that relief of relinquishing control to someone else can stem from..

The dynamic between all of the characters is the highest high of the story. Cora is a pebble thrown in Simone and Fox's well water and the ensuing havoc is a joy to witness. I know none of them is supposed to be "likeable" in the average sense of the word, but all of them were endearing for vastly different reasons. I think Cora is my favorite though. Her grandiloquence, the ways her prejudices show themselves in the smallest of ways (her line about the maid is amazing at conveying the kind of person she really is under her pretenses) and of course how unhinged she can get was so up my alley. Again, such a joy to read !

thank you so much for this thoughtful and glowing comment! I'm so amazed, touched, and happy that my story helped you understand this perspective at least a little bit. and it feels like a huge victory that the dynamic between the characters felt so strong to you! I hate Cora so much and I'm so glad you love her
